Sometimes in life, things don't quite go as planned. When I was a young photographer, shooting rock concerts on my own, my Father would say to me, ( I worked in his photography studio since I was 16 years old ) " Who do you think is going to buy these pictures, Ken ? "  Even though I really didn't have an answer for him at the time, I would always say to my self "Someday I'm going to publish some kind of book with these rock photos", well it may not be a book, but I would say they are published, electronically published. The sad part of the story is that I don't have all of the slides or negatives to represent what I have taken. There have been losses over the years, moving too many times, things getting lost, or even destroyed. The past decade of hurricanes was not kind, causing mildew, and water damage. sometimes when negatives get destroyed, and I still have the proof sheets, I have to scan the proof in order to represent the event. A couple of examples of this are my black and white photos of Jimi Hendrix at Miami Pop, scanned from 120 proofs, the Shea Stadium Peace concert, with backstage photos of Janis Joplin and Johnny Winter. Other factors included lack of the best equipment at the time, and not having the knowledge to do what I needed to do. A good example of this is the story of Jimi Hendrix telling me, "There will be no more flash photography. "  I didn't know how to shoot available light photography at that point in my photographic career, and I had to stop shooting. There are some concerts that I went to that I wasn't able to leave my seat, re: no real close ups of Jimi at the Miami Beach Convention Ctr. To make things worse, all I had was a fisheye, and normal focal length lens. That was the first time that I used a fisheye lens, which really requires that you be very close to the subject, not a good combination of events. I went to a Farewell Cream concert in Ft Laud. Lockhart Stadium, I was stuck in the Grandstand, the band was on the infield. Even though I don't have all the groups or artists on the list, I hope you enjoy what I was able to rescue.
